![]() ![]() Standing up, I began to mix vials of the metals I trusted more. I had thought that all that mattered was the percentage of the main parts so this caused a problem, did something else need to be mixed in as well? I did get a slightly stronger reaction to the 1% steel though. 0.5% carbon and 1% carbon both worked in a similar way to the 2% steel I had tested before. It was fairly clear the two small bars of steel had been going the wrong way. They had sent me some varients of steel to try and find the right one. I wanted to find more of my metals, the less I had to use the dangerous ones, the longer I might live. Not just because of all of the things I was storing right now but because I was scared that my powers might one day kill me. The less I used either, the longer I'll live. That would have the same sort of problems as Cadmium itself. There was also the knowledge that there was an alloy of Cadmium that I would also have to use. The main hope there was that gold might allow me to heal the damage it would do to my system. Each time I used it, I was shortening my life. Even trace amounts were enough to kill over time. Otherwise there was still the fear of burned Cadmium. ![]() I sent the request to peform this test up the chain but I didn't know how long it would take them to respond. Seeing as it held breath, my first idea had been something like a scuba mask that could help me breath while storing a large amount of breath. It did allow me to run tests on it though. The problem was that this was exactly what I had to do to store in it. #WE NEED TO GO DEEPER THROWN VIAL SKIN#The problem was the advice she had found was to prevent the Cadmium from touching skin for more than a few hours. I had looked it up and it wasn't as dangerous as I had first thought. Storing in Cadmium was still something that needed to be worked out. The waiting did give me a chance to charge my metals though.Īs I rested in my room, charging my metals, I thought again about my powers. The question of what the bank had been meant to hide. Tattletale might also know but talking to her is asking to be frustrated." Aegis explained after a pause. Circus might know but they didn't say anything. "They've already been questions and they were silent on the topic, we don't think that most of them knew anything. Snorts came from both Aegis and Clockblocker, the latter adding an "I wish." I lean back "Are we allowed to question the Undersiders about it?" "No." I couldn't tell who spoke but they sounded as annoyed as their answer made me. Remembering my promise to myself last night I ask "Did anyone figure out what the bank was meant to distract from?" Kid Win, Aegis and Browbeat were watching the TV. Gallant, Vista and Clockblocker began playing snap on another table. "If she doesn't," Aegis mumbled "I'll find out what she is doing instead." Vista let out a soft snort before answering "No, she hasn't even checked in yet. #WE NEED TO GO DEEPER THROWN VIAL TV#I nod and sit back, the TV is playing news and it offers background noise to the otherwise quiet room.Īfter a while I think to ask "So, has Shadow Stalker shown up yet?" "They are 'Playing it safe' apparently." Clockblocker explained "I don't have a problem with that but I would like to know when we can head out again, the atmosphere in here is getting fairly heavy." I raised an eyebrow "Why can't we patrol other sections of town then, it isn't like the ABB have influence everywhere?" "No," Aegis noted from where he sat in one of the other chairs "Apparently the ABB are acting strange, the Protectorate wanted us at base while they checked it out." I sat down on one of the armchairs and asked nonchalantly "So no patrols yet?" The atmosphere of the room was a little different than normal. He wasn't the only one in here of course, I could see that most of them were here actually. "You're not." Clockblocker commented from where he lay on one of the sofas in the Wards base. ![]()
